The market was flooded with methanol in
China, causing prices to fall for the second day. According to trade
sources, Middle Eastern methanol supplies to Europe have slowed due to the lack
of supply from the Americas. The flow of
methanol from the Middle East was plentiful to southeast Asia. As southeast Asia's demand tends to slow during Ramadan and
after, sellers of Middle East cargoes began placing them in China. A cargo loading for April was initially offered at $305/mt
CFR China, but it was reduced to $304/mt CFR China by April 4. However, China trade activity was very slow on April 5, Qing
