Amid concerns about China's slowdown, the
Asian butadiene industry is expected to remain subdued during the week ending
June 26. S&P
Ratings cut China's growth forecast for 2023 from 5.5% to 5.2%, citing concerns
that "China’s recovery is losing more steam due to weak confidence among
consumers and the housing market." Sources
say that the local market in China has been stable so far. However, they
predict a decline towards the end the week as the spot supply is increasing. Trading sources say spot supplies are plentiful and that
some deepsea shipments will continue to arrive in Asia. According to a June 26 industry source, Japan's Mitsui
Chemicals has resumed operations in its steam cracker based on naphtha at
Ichihara after it halted June...
