India Styrene monomer: Prices drop on lukewarm Demand / Domestic price discussions fall / Adjacent Markets Soften

The price of styrene monomer in India dropped during the week ending November 14 due to weak demand. Also, adjacent markets were softer. CFR India reported a thin trading activity as the weak demand affected price discussions. Domestic discussion levels were also down, with Kandla port offering rates that are slightly lower. Kandla port heard an offer of around Rupees 95/kg. This was down Rupees 1,50/kg from the previous week. A trader stated that the premium to China was around $5/mt, and that the overall styrene markets are very weak. A second trader said that the market was soft because of a lukewarm response to demand.
