Asian Styrene monomer: Prices increase with higher energy values / Domestic SM Prices, Crude Oil Futures Up / Inventory levels in East and South China are mixed

On July 26, Asian styrene Monomer was up $13/mt for the day, at $1116/mt, CFR China; $1101/mt, FOB Korea; and $1146/mt, CFR Taiwan. SM futures rose on July 26 in response to higher energy prices. The domestic Chinese ethylbenzene price is lower at Yuan 8,525/mt based on downstream China SM. This maintains the spread with the domestic China SM immediate price of Yuan 820/mt. Trade sources reported that SM inventories at Chinese ports had been mixed over the past week. Trade sources said that in east China, inventories rose by 12,500mt to 51,200mt during the week ending July 26.
