Asian Styrene monomer: Prices drop on weak macroeconomic outlook / Crude oil slips $1.64/b on day / East China Supply at 42,000 mt

CFR China styrene Monomer and FOB Korea Markers Oct. 9, at $1,108/mt & $1,093/mt respectively, down $9/mt compared to the previous assessment. Market sources attributed the decline in Asian SM discussions to a more bearish macroeconomic outlook compared to yesterday. The macroeconomy is not looking good so SM futures have fallen. A market source confirmed that the stock market also fell. The price discussion for SM futures at the Dalian Commodity Exchange decreased during the day. At 3pm Singapore time on Oct. 9, the November SM DCE EB2411 contract closed at Yuan 8896/mt, down Yuan 88/mt compared to the previous day.
