CFR China styrene Monomer and FOB Korean markers were $1,149/mt on July 5, down $11/mt compared to the previous assessment. Market sources attributed the decline in discussions for Asian SM to weaker demand from downstream buyers and a correction of this week's fall in upstream benzene price. "Benzene upstream prices have dropped this week but styrene is relatively stable." A market source said that it is not surprising that the styrene price fell today.
