CFR China styrene and FOB Korea markers were $1,085/mt on September 20 and $1,070/mt respectively, down $12/mt since the previous assessment. Market sources attribute the decline in Asian SM talks to persistent weakness of demand for styrene. According to market sources, prompt cargoes in China dropped by around Yuan 230/mt from the previous day. "Although macroeconomic sentiments were positive, the demand is still too low. A market source said that no one wanted spot cargoes at the moment. SM futures at the Dalian Commodity Exchange saw a decline in price discussions as well. On Sept. 20 at 3pm Singapore time, the November SM DCE EB2411 contract closed at Yuan 8 628/mt. This was down Yuan 122/mt on the previous day.
