CFR India's markdown dropped $58/mt in a week to $1,140/mt, as a seller at CFR China flat and several buyers offered a $1/mt discount to CFR China. A source stated that inventories were very high and there was no demand in the local market. A trader said that because inventories were so high, market participants in the domestic market tried to reduce their volume by offering lower prices. As a result, bids on new cargoes fell dramatically. A trader stated that sellers were less interested in selling cargoes into India due to the weak market. A trader said that the weak market sentiment in Asia is also putting pressure on the CFR China price.
