India Styrene monomer: Prices fall as demand remains weak after Diwali / Discussion levels on the domestic market are falling / ICE Brent Futures at $74.87/b

The price of styrene monomer in India dropped during the week ending Nov. 8, despite the continued weakness in demand and the decline in discussion after Diwali. Sources said that there was little trading activity, as the market slowly opened up following the Diwali holiday. Domestic discussion levels have also dropped, with rates at Kandla port and Mumbai port slipping. Kandla's offer rate was around Rupees 95.50/kg. Mumbai's offer rate was around Rupees 99/kg. Hazira Port heard an offer of Rupees 99/kg for Styrene. A trader stated that "some weakness remains in the Indian Styrene Market as it is still opening up.
