Market fundamentals are still bearish and downstream demand is slack. The Indian styrene market continues to be under pressure. Sources said that November shipment spot offers came in at a premium between $10 and $15/mt above the CFR China mark, but there was little interest to purchase. A seller said that buyers expect a flat price, but this is not possible. A trader said that the styrene market has been poor this year, with too many contracts. With Benzene SM Delta above $160/ mt, it's still profitable for Asian Producers at the current Premiums. This year, the market for polystyrene was at its worst.
