Asian Styrene monomer: Prices unchanged on unchanged market fundamentals / Premiums increase due to short squeeze / China's Yulong plans new SM units

Styrene monomer CFR China & FOB Korea Markers at $1,031.50/mt & $1,016.50/mt respectively on November 22, stable compared to the previous assessment. The discussions for Asian SM remained stable despite the increase in futures and premiums. The spread between H1 December and second-half November assessments was Yuan 435/mt on Nov. 22. This was Yuan 110/mt higher than the previous day. The spread widened due to higher premiums on H2 November physical cargoes compared with futures, Yuan 550 - 570/mt versus Yuan 440-470/mt yesterday. A market source stated that premiums had risen in recent days because of a short squeeze. The December SM DCE EB2412 contract closed at Yuan 8491/mt, Singapore time at 3:00pm on November 22, an increase of Yuan 20/mt for the day. China's Yulong Petrochemical plans to start...
