Asian Styrene monomer: Prices increase on positive macroeconomic sentiments in China / Futures market rises Yuan 44/mt in one day / East China stock rises by 10,500 mt in a week

CFR China's styrene Monomer and FOB Korean markers were $1,039/mt on Dec. 11, and $1,014/mt on Dec. 11. Both are up $5/mt since the previous assessment. Sources said that discussions for Asian SM increased on Dec. 11 due to a more positive macroeconomic outlook in China, and higher benzene price. Sources said that traders were selling H2 December cargoes for higher prices, and also trading H2 January cargoes. Crude oil futures fluctuated in mid-afternoon Asian trading on Dec. 11, as the market awaited OPEC+’s upcoming report due later that day. The front-month February ICE Brent Futures reached $72.44/b at the Asian close on Dec. 11, up 44 cents/b from the previous day.
