Asian Styrene monomer: Prices increase for the second consecutive day on stronger Futures / April futures up Yuan 68/mt day over day / SE Asia Market Participants in Wait-and-See Mode

The styrene Monomer CFR China and FOB Korean markers were $999/mt & $989/mt on March 14 respectively. Both marks are up $8/mt since the previous assessment. This is due to the upward movement in the Chinese Futures Market. Asian SM prices rose in line with a stronger Chinese futures markets against a background of slightly improved crude contracts. As of 3 pm Beijing time, the Dalian Commodities Exchange's front-month April EB2504 styrene monmer futures contract closed Yuan 68/mt more expensive at Yuan 8,123/mt. The price of crude oil continued to climb in the afternoon Asian trade on March 14, amid rising geopolitical tensions and trade tensions.
