Asian Styrene monomer: Prices falling tracking domestic China market / March futures down Yuan 42/mt in one day / China's downstream operational rates are rising

The Asian Styrene Monomer Prices declined in response to the slight drop in Chinese Futures as crude prices increased. The CFR China and FOB Korea styrene markers were $1,051/mt, and $1,041/mt, respectively, on February 14. Both markers are down $3/mt from the previous day. As of 3pm Beijing time, the Dalian Commodities Exchange's front-month contract EB2503 styrene monmer futures contract closed Yuan 41/mt less at Yuan 8,534/mt. The price of crude oil futures in Asia rose at mid-afternoon on February 14 due to geopolitical tensions, despite possible peace talks and a sharp fall in the US Dollar.
