Structure continues to weaken-
Strong demand for heavier grades

Sources
said that on April 20, there was difficulty in finding bids. This is due to the
length of supply on the European naphtha markets as Mediterranean cargoes move
from Northwest Europe. One source stated that the market was still very
long. According to Kpler Shipping data, Mediterranean exports into
Northwest Europe were expected to reach a record-high 618,000 mt in April. Sources
say that despite the strong demand for heavy naphtha there was a premium of
between $40 and $60-65/mt over open specification naphtha. The CIF NWE
front-month naphtha exchange rate was down by $13.75/mt for the day, at
$653.75/mt. April/May swap spreads were down 50 cents/mt to minus $1.50/mt
while May/June swaps were down 25 cents/mt to $3/mt.
