Spot movements to US continue / Thin trade in India and Southeast Asia

Prices for Asian toluene were mixed on April 30. This was before the rollover of half-months and the Labor Day holiday across the world. China also began its week-long break beginning May 1. On the prompt market, domestic China ex-tank contract prices were firmer while H2 contracts for May were slightly lower. Ex-tank East China supply was Yuan 20/mt higher day-on-day at Yuan 7,600/mt. This is equivalent to $926.57/mt based on import parity. Trading sources reported that South Korea's limited availability was hampering discussions on spot prices. A trader stated, "I do not see much avail from [South] Korea. I am seeing more from China." He added that "US [blenders] are still buying, but less is going to Straits [blenders]."
