Spot DEG Supply Heard Tight: Sources / Market awaiting Nan Ya EG2 restart

According to sources, the spot price for US monoethylene was unchanged in the week ending May 3. Diethylene glycol rose by 4 cents due to a tighter supply. According to a distributor and a buyer, offers were in the range of 38-40c/lb FOBUSG. Deals were also heard within this range. A distributor stated that "DEG was very tight." "We haven't been able find a spot-barge." Participants on the market were anticipating that Nan Ya's EG2 plant, which had been shut down since April 26, would be restarted.
