South Korea propylene imports increase 10.2% month-on-month in March / SK Advanced maintains 90% production at Ulsan PDH in April

In the week leading up to April 19, the Asian propylene markets were largely stable due to a standoff between buyers and vendors on a mixed outlook for near-term. Market sources reported that end-users were not interested in buying at the current spot prices or production margins. Sellers, on the other hand have faced upstream pressure and maintained or increased offer levels. In South Korea, the supply-demand balance tightened due to limited spot supplies. This led to a larger price spread between CFR China & FOB Korea markers. The trading activity in Southeast Asia is low, with the expectation that it will pick up when market participants return from their regional holidays.
