South Asian polyethylene prices remained largely stable inthe week to Sept. 11 amid unchanged price discussion levels andstable market fundamentals.Trade participants said a stable to firmer PE market isexpected in the coming days, with a few market players indicatingthat upcoming offers could be slightly higher than current pricesdue to a pickup in demand. "Overall, the PE market is stable, and a few grades areshowing slight positive trend," a domestic producer said, addingdiscussion levels for some PE grades are rising.For LDPE film, price ideas remained unchanged through theweek and most tradable indications for LDPE grades were in the$1,100-$1,130/mt range.In Plant news, India's Reliance Industries Ltd. shut its lowdensitypolyethylene (LDPE) production line at the Jamnagarmanufacturing unit in Gujarat for about 12 days of plannedmaintenance starting Sept. 6.South Asian general-purpose, low-densitygrade polyethylene stable...
