The Asian ethylene market was quiet on June 4 as participants were cautious due to the falling prices upstream. The price of crude oil and naphtha, which are key components in the production process, plummeted late in the day. Some sources said that buy-sell signals could be reduced if these prices continue to fall. Some buy indications on the day were at $800-$840/mt CFR Northeast Asia or CFR NE Asia with a parity of premiums $5/mt above CFR NE Asia. Sell indications ranged between $850 and $870/mt CFR NE Asia or premiums from $10 to $15/mt CFR NE Asia.
