to tight supply, Asian solvent-mixedxylenes prices were higher in the week
ending February 24, despite lower volumes. An early offer was made for
1,000-mt second half March loading at $920/mt FOB Korea. Letter of credit was
received. An offer for similar size and laycan was received at $919/mt FOB
Korea but did not trade. While the offer expired, the bid was still at
$919/mt and there were no other counters. Trading sources stated that
markets in Asia are still supported by tight supplies, with little material
coming from South Korea or Thailand and low operating aromatic run rates. Sources
said that mixed xylenes inventories in east China dropped 19,700 mt each week...
