Asian Solvent: Prices are stable or lower due to mixed fundamentals / China MX stock level almost doubles / Southeast Asia stable

On August 30, Asian mixed-grade xylene fell $5/mt from the previous week to $759/mt at FOB Korea. This was a sign of lower prices, but fundamentals in other markets were mixed. China's tradable level was heard to be slightly lower than the previous week. CFR China was also assessed at $5/mt less, or $810/mt. Inventory levels of MX in East China were heard to nearly double on week, to over 58,000 mt. This compares to a level of about 30,000 mt the week before. The increase in the arrival of isomer MX cargo from Northeast Asia was expected, as arbitrage between South Korea & East China had been open earlier for a longer period in July & August.
