Asian Solvent MX prices stable or lower due to mixed fundamentals / China MX Inventory Level Nearly Doubles / Southeast Asia stable

On August 30, Asian mixed-grade xylene fell $5/mt from the previous week to $759/mt at FOB Korea. This was a sign of a lower price, but fundamentals in other markets were mixed. China's tradable level was heard to be slightly lower than the previous week. CFR China was also assessed at $5/mt less, or $810/mt. Inventory levels of MX in East China were heard to nearly double on week, to over 58,000 mt. This compares to about 30,000 mt the week before. The increase in the arrival of isomer MX cargo from Northeast Asia was expected, as arbitrage between South Korea & East China had been open earlier for a longer period in July & August.
