Asian Solvent: MX falls $16.62/mt in a week due to lower naphtha and sluggish market demand / China MX inventories hover around 70,000 mt / South Korea exports record amounts of isomer MX in October

On Nov.15, Asian mixed-grade xylene, a solvent grade, fell by $16.62/mt from the previous week, to $663.62/mt, FOB Korea. During the day, offers for December-loading cargoes FOB Korea were made, and a deal was also heard for 1,000 mt in H1 December for $661/mt. Prices for solvent-MX were also likely to be following lower prices of naphtha, and toluene. On Nov. 15, naphtha was assessed at $618.50/mt CF Japan (down $40.50/mt since Nov. 8). Toluene fell by $40/mt in one week to $669/mt F.O.B. Korea on November 15, while mixed isomer xylene, which was a more resilient product due to the opening of downstream plants South Korea showed a $10/mt drop on the same week to $717/mt F.O.B.
