The European acrylonitrile spot pricing was
stable during the week to April 4. Market dynamics remained dominated by
fundamentals. Spot
pricing for European acrylonitrile was unchanged at $1,585/mt CIF-ARA April 4,
the same as last week. This stability was
due to a wide gap between buyer and seller pricing expectations in this market
with prices in the $1500-$1,800/mt area heard from both producers and consumers
throughout the week. The market
fundamentals remained largely unchanged with the oversupply still looming over
potential spot markets activity. Although
there was an increase in optimism, the weak derivative demand from downstream
industry and the over contracted consumption trends continued their hold on
