Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) saw stable price discussions in the week as the market remained quiet during the period. ABS CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia were both at $1.450/mt and 1 470/mt for the week of May 15. Market was quiet as SM upstream continued to drop during the week. This created an air of uncertainty. The price of upstream CFR China Styrene Monomer and FOB Korea Markers were $1,133/mt & $1,123/mt respectively on May 15, down $12/mt compared to the previous week. Many customers are waiting to see if the prices of styrene have dropped. A producer stated that they had received orders in advance, and were not in a rush to lower prices.
