Sluggish Asian demand drives down Asian butadiene / Supply disruptions in Southeast Asia

Asian butadiene prices fell between $10 and $30/mt on May 10, to a two-month-low as sellers reduced their bids to clear their volume for June. CFR China butadiene fell $10/mt on May 10 to $1,390/mt. CFR Northeast Asia butadiene was $30/mt less on the same day, at $1400/mt. Asian butadiene prices dropped $20-$40/mt from a week ago. The Asian butadiene markets started the week on a weaker note due to a lack of enthusiasm from end users. Some buyers in China cited the recent deal as being below $1,400/mt CIF China. A cargo was traded for $1,380/mt in Northeast Asia later this week. The spot demand for June was low as buyers were able to meet their needs by buying deep-sea cargoes.
