The price of Asian toluene was lower on May
10 due to a volatile market for upstream naphtha and a rangebound crude. FOB Korea prices fell $5-6/mt
on a daily basis, due to a decline in the downstream paraxylene and naphtha
prices. The benchmark Asian C+F Japan
Naphtha was $9.625/mt less than the morning intraday value of $601.75/mt, down
$5.625/mt for the day. Paraxylene prices
in downstream markets adjacent to the Asian C+F Japan market fell by $7/mt per
day, falling from $1,015/mt. Trading
sources reported that there were few discussions on spot toluene. They said
that 2,000 mt of toluene, and 2,000 solvent-mixed-xylenes for June loading had
