Asian butadiene dropped $5/mt per day to a
4-month low of $890/mt CIF China on May 17. The sentiment was negative amid
abundant supplies and weak demand. The
local China butadiene prices were stable at Yuan 7,900/mt or $982/mt based on
import parity. Import parity prices are
falling in tandem with the Chinese Yuan's decline against the dollar. Weak economic data is a concern for China's internal demand. China's industrial production increased 5.6% on an annual
basis in April, according to data released on May 16 by the National Bureau of
