Selling levels remain stable despite persistently high feedstock costs / Holidays hamper the little spot-buying indicators

The price of polystyrene in Asia was $20/mt more than the previous week, April 25. China's exports for high-impact and general purpose polystyrene (HIPS) were also much higher to deal with high feedstock prices ahead of China's long May Day holiday. Feedstock ACN price rose by $5/mt from week to week, reaching $1,295/mt in CFR China on the 23rd of April. Other markets fluctuated sharply due to upstream crude oil prices. CFR Northeast Asia and CFR Southeast Asia GPPS prices were in a range between $1,350 and $1370/mt. A Southeast Asia-based source stated that the market in Southeast Asia is still slow even though Ramadan is over. There were no firm purchases or sales. Another trader from Northeast Asia said, "Market is weak and producers are insisting on increasing prices."...
