SE Asia plant supply issues / Local China increases Yuan 300/mt

The price of Asian butadiene remained stable on May 9, as participants stayed away from the market as concerns about a supply shortage began to loom amid plant problems. China's butadiene prices rose Yuan 300/mt per day, or $1.429/mt based on import parity. Zhejiang's Petrochemical Company (ZPC) has delayed its planned restart of the 250,000 mt/year number. The original date for the restart of the No. 2 butadiene factory in Zhejiang was May 10. However, sources close to ZPC said that the plant will now be restarted on May 15 instead.
