Sources said that Asian monoethylene glycol
import prices remained stable in March 24 despite thin trade. Producers reported that
diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol, coproducts of the production of MEG
fromethylene oxide, are selling better than MEG. The shift in trade patterns was towards more localized
production within Asia. Traders stated
that the US will have more supply by the year's end, once new plants are
established. They said that the Middle
East will continue to export to Asia and that more US PE supplies are expected. Traders suggested that the Regional Cooperation Economic
