In the week ending Oct. 23, the Indian polyvinylchloride market was stable as fundamentals were unchanged despite low trade activity. Sources in the market expect robust downstream demand when the market returns to full force following Diwali. This week and next will be subdued as the market has already been stocked for the festivals, and participants are occupied with fulfilling deliveries and not going out to buy new products. The end-user demand increased after the monsoon lasted longer than expected. The demand from end users is expected to remain strong. A trade source stated that traders in the construction industry will be looking to stockpile PVC pipes as they expect a surge in activity following the Diwali holiday weekend.
