fell during the week of May 31 due a weak demand in a season traditionally
slow. Southeast
Asian demand was low as converters resisted purchases and were reluctant to
take on trading risks due to the uncertain economic climate. The Asian low-density Polyethylene CFR South Asia Marker was
$5/mt less day over day on May 31, at $995/mt. One seller in India reported that buyers were not responding
to offers of $1,000/mt for CFR South Asia LDPE films because they expected
prices to fall below $1,000/mt. A producer
in India stated that there will be a second round of price corrections from
