Asian RPET: Stable despite weak demand / Southeast Asian producers continue to offer / Thai bottle bales prices rise due to flooding

In spite of persistently weak demand, the Asian R-PET market was stable during the week ending October 23. Most producers and sellers in Southeast Asia kept their R-PET pellets and flakes offers the same. According to sources on the market, a producer has reported a slight improvement in buying interest by European flakers. However, overall demand remains subdued. The economy is still weak. Normaly, the European market is booming at this time of the year with orders for the following year. However, the market was calm, said a Vietnamese producer, underlining the continued sluggishness. This week, the bottle bale price in Thailand increased slightly due to a tighter supply. A market source said that the higher bale prices were due to the flooding in Thailand which had limited bottle bale...
