Asian RPET: Prices Mixed amid Slowdown in Exports to EU / RecyClass certification is increasingly demanded by European customers / Indonesian Chozen Plastindo will launch 14,400 mt/year RPET pellet production Nov 13

FOB Southeast Asia recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate prices varied in the week ending Nov. 6. Prices were largely buoyed by Asian demand, as European demand was slowing. High PET bottle bale costs kept prices relatively high. R-PET flakes prices rose during the week in line with deals made in Asia, while pellets prices remained steady despite unchanged fundamentals. A regional recycler stated that Asia is demanding more filament-grade flake. The pellet demand has remained low, due to the competitive virgin PET price. The recycler said that "pellet sales are slow". R-PET is still priced above virgin PET because of high PET bale prices in Indonesia. Thailand, and Malaysia.
