FOB Southeast Asian recycled polyethylene Terephthalate prices remained stable during the week ending September 25 due to unchanged market fundamentals. R-PET premium-grade clear flake and clear flakes were stable for the day and the week, at $930/mt and $870/mt respectively. R-PET pellets of food grade were also stable, at $1.320/mt. Trade sources report that discussions and deals for R-PET pellets and flakes are ongoing with buyers from Europe and the US, as well as Asia and the Middle East. The East-West arbitrage is still open. A Thai recycler reported that "we are seeing an increased demand or enquiries from Europe". The week's bids and offers were largely stable due to the high costs of PET bale feedstock and the strength of Southeast Asian currencies in comparison with the dollar. An...
