Asian RPET: Prices fall on lower exports / Freight still affects delivery times and export volume / FOB Southeast Asia R-PET flakes fall $20/mt in a week

The price of recycled polyethylene terephthalate FOB Southeast Asia fell in the week ended July 23 due to a weaker demand for exports. R-PET clear and premium-grade flake prices were down $5/mt per day and $15/mt per week, at $825/mt et $920/mt respectively. R-PET food-grade pellets were unchanged on the week, at $1250/mt. This week, R-PET flake orders from Middle East, Europe and Asia customers were lower. A trader stated that clients find it difficult to accept price increases after the year 2024. A Southeast Asian recycler stated that "the burden lies on freight costs and lower prices are needed to compensate".
