India RPET: Strong domestic demand keeps Indian producers from exporting / Indian domestic demand defies global lagging / India's offers are firm

FOB India RPET flakes fell $2/mt on August 7th, and pellets remained stable for the week. This was due to a slowdown in global demand, but strong domestic demand prevented Indian producers from exporting. An Indian R-PET seller said that despite receiving inquiries, they were unable to ship the material due to container and freight issues. Middle East buyers of Indian RPET flakes stated that current high freights may be restricting their import options. They also said that Indian offers have remained strong despite Southeast Asian producers offering lower prices. The buyer added: "We purchase large quantities for our fibre applications and we have consistently maintained relationships with Indian producers.
