Reforming Spread narrows even further / South Korea's imports of naphtha fell 12.1% in April

The Asian naphtha markets remained buoyant on May 29 due to strong demand for H1 cargoes in July, while the reforming spread hit a four-month low. In Asian mid-morning trade on May 29, brokers pinned the front-month Mean of Japan Naphtha Swap Time Spread for June-July at $8.50/mt, down 50 cents/mt compared to previous close. The weakness in naphtha has been outpaced by the weakness in gasoline. At the Asian close on May 28, the Singapore reforming spread, which is the difference between Singapore 92RON gasoline and Singapore naphtha derivative, a key interest for gasoline blenders was $16.85/b, a $9.20/b decrease from the previous month.
