In the week ending March 12, Asian recycled low density Polyethylene was stable amid slow trading. Asian recycled LDPE film pellets are stable at $780/mt FOS Southeast Asia on March 12. The producers said that poor economic growth had hampered the demand. Sustainability projects have also been facing funding delays. Sources say that the negative sentiments on virgin markets also affected the recycled market. Because it is easier to use, traders prefer virgin material to recycled material, especially when the latter is cheaper. Sources on the market said that higher-quality renewable products, similar to virgin materials, are more expensive and that people were not willing to pay extra to recycle.
