During the week ending July 31, trading activity on the recycled low density plastic market was very thin due to a slowing of demand and the high cost of freight. Asian recycled low density Polyethylene natural film Pellets are down $10/mt from the previous week to $780/mt FOM Southeast Asia on July 31. The market sentiment has been negative due to several factors including the uncertain shipping conditions, geopolitical tensions around the world and lull season in India and China. Sources said that buyers have been on hold and are not in a hurry to secure cargoes. A trader said that the next high season in China for LDPE is the agricultural season which begins in September.
