The price of recycled polyethylene terephthalate flakes was $9,700/mt, FOB India, on February 12, down $30/mt from the previous week and $10/mt over the day. R-PET pellets were $1,350/mt, FOB India, over that same period. They were unchanged over the day, but down $20/mt over the week due to weaker tradeable discussions. One source attributed this weakness to the summer months when the feedstock supply is expected to increase. Other sources thought that certain recycler brand names were possibly holding premiums. One source stated that domestic markets are prone to volatility, based on the bale price. This in turn affects FOB prices.
