Prices of recycled polyethylene terephthalate in Southeast Asia remained stable during the week ending June 26 as the demand from East Asia offset the lower inquiries from Europe and North America. A European buyer of flakes said that "Southeast Asia sales are still on hold, as sea freight costs are too high and ship arrival times are unpredictable." Market sources report that SE Asia to Europe freight quotes have risen from $3,500 to $4,500/FEU at the beginning of May.
