Asian Recycled Pet: Prices Mixed amid Freight Challenges / FOB SE Asia flake price drops $10-$15/mt due to lower demand from EU and / North America Increasing FOB India Offers may Erode Arbitrage Opportunities

Prices for recycled polyethylene terephthalate in Southeast Asia were mixed during the week ending June 19. Demand from East Asia offset a decline in inquiries from EUand North America. R-PET clear and premium-grade flakes were stable on the day but down $10/mt adn $15/mt for the week at $905/mt et $820/mt respectively. The price of food-grade pellets was stable, but the weekly price rose $20/mt to $1250/mt. High freight costs and congestion in multiple ports continue to deter buyers from Europe and North America for R-PET pellets and flakes.
