the seven days leading up to April 5, the Asian recycled low density
plasticethylene market was stable. Asia is the most affordable region in terms
of prices, as there is a Southeast Asia - Europe and Southeast Asia - US
arbitrage. Trades said that Southeast Asia's export interest has increased
due to lower freight rates. The freight rates for Southeast Asia to US
West Coast and Southeast Asia towards the US East coast fell to $1250/FEU,
$2700/FEU respectively in early 2023. This is down from $10,000/FEU, and
$11,000/FEU early 2022. Sources estimate that about 85% of Southeast
