Terephthalate was stable to lower on May 17th, with R-PET clear flake FOB India
assessed at $870/mt. This is a $30/mt decrease week-on-week. R-PET continues to be
affected by the slowdown in global economic growth. As prime PET prices dropped, regional recyclers reported a
persistent lack of buying by converters. FOB
Southeast Asia PET Bottle Grade was valued at $1,020/mt in the week ending May
12. This is a $40/mt decrease. Negotiations
are still ongoing. "We do not buy resins at the moment but may consider it
next month. "Recyclers continue to
