The price of recycled polyethylene Terephthalate in Asia was stable in the week ending February 12 due to volatility in ASEAN currencies. US inquiries are stronger than those in other regions, indicating open arbitrage. FOB Southeast Asia R-PET premium-grade and clear flakes remained unchanged at $910/mt on February 12, while food-grade Pellets were down $5/mt to $1,260/mt. This week, prices were steady to firm despite the fluctuation of ASEAN currencies against dollars. Trade sources reported that US inquiries were stronger than those from other regions in terms of demand. The demand for flake was far greater than the demand for pellets.
