The market for recycled low density polyethylene was stable during the week ending July 10. A tight supply of the material offset the slowdown in demand due to the lull period. On July 10, Asian recycled low density film pellets were stable for the week, at $800/mt F.O.B. Southeast Asia. Scrap plastics prices are rising because of increased demand for materials in Europe and US. This has led to a decrease in exports. Sources also cited a decrease in domestic consumption of plastic bottles and other items due to summertime in the US, which led to fewer scrap collections.
