Asian Recycled LLDPE: Prices stable, as Demand and Supply Fundamentals Stable / Buyers Wait and See / Expected demand to increase in September

As demand and supply fundamentals remained steady, the Asian recycled low density plastic market was stable for the week ending August 7. Asian recycled low density polyethylene natural film Pellets remained unchanged for the week at $790/mt F.O.B. Southeast Asia, on August 7. The demand remained low due to uncertainty in shipping conditions and negative sentiments. Most buyers stayed on the sidelines. The tight scrap supply in Europe and the US has continued to support prices. Sources said that the congestion in Port Klang did not show any signs of easing, and cargoes coming from Europe and the US could be delayed for up to four full weeks. After the summer slump, sources predict that demand will pick up again in September. Recycling companies are currently facing thin profit margins....
